Gun stores & other essential businesses will be open during stay-at-home order
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Right after the clock strikes midnight on Friday morning, all non-essential businesses in Florida will have to close by order the governor.
Gov. Ron DeSantis issued a stay-at-home order requiring everyone to shelter in place, apart from certain essential activities.
When it comes to essential businesses, we know the obvious ones like public health, public safety, grocery stores will be open. But did you know places like gun stores, gas stations, liquor stores and law offices will stay open as well?
Hobby Lobby closing all stores and furloughing most employees - Business Insider
"As the country continues efforts to manage and mitigate the devastating health and economic impacts of the COVID-19 virus, Hobby Lobby will, after careful consideration, close the remainder of its stores, and furlough nearly all store employees and a large portion of corporate and distribution employees, effective Friday, April 3rd, at 8:00 p.m.," Hobby Lobby posted on its website. "The stores will remain closed until further notice."
According to two employees, each speaking on the condition of anonymity for fear of retribution but whose employment status and identities were confirmed by Business Insider, managers at their stores called teams into a meeting to deliver the news on Friday afternoon. During the meetings, they were told the furloughs would affect all workers below management level and was expected to run through at least May 1.

Microsoft also stated that it would prioritize cloud access for first responders, emergency services, and medical software. Microsoft also announced that usage of Skype rose 70% in March and that the platform now had 40 million daily active users. Those figures all suggest the crisis is lighting a fire under Microsoft's cloud business, and it could offset the macro pressures on its other businesses.

Small-business exemptions to COVID-19 emergency leave, expanded FMLA clarified
If an employer’s business closed prior to April 1 and temporarily furloughed employees, those furloughed employees would not be eligible for the emergency leave benefits until the practice is operational. Any employees who have continued to work or are working at a minimal part-time capacity on or after April 1 may be eligible under the qualifying circumstances as listed in the law.
The two federal leave acts are part of the larger Families First Coronavirus Response Act, phase II, which was signed into law March 18 by President Donald Trump. Most private businesses with fewer than 500 employees are required to comply with the requirements to provide the emergency paid leave and expanded FMLA to eligible employees.

The Trump administration was still finalizing details, including the interest rate, as late as Thursday evening, leaving borrowers and lenders alike frustrated at the lack of information.
Administration officials quickly praised the kickoff on Friday. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Twitter just before noon that the program had processed $875 million, “almost all from community banks,” and said large banks would soon be up and running.
