QuickBooks is still the gold standard for small business accounting. Learn how it’s done now.

TLDR: The QuickBooks 2020 Essentials Bundle: Beginner to Bookkeeper training offers full accounting training for novice and expert QuickBooks users alike.

Basic accounting seldom turns out to be quite so basic. If you're handling the books for a tiny operation, then maybe all you need is a pen and a few simple balance sheets. But it doesn't require much growth, either in volume or staffing or vendors, before you have to start considering exactly how you're tracking revenue, expenses, invoices, bills and more.

Coronavirus in 129 South Florida senior-care homes - South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Some nursing home workers are being asked to care for patients suspected of having COVID-19 without medical-grade N95 masks, said Dale Ewart, executive vice president of the 1199 SEIU union, which represents workers in 75 nursing homes in Florida.

"It is variable and inconsistent," he said. "There are still places that have reported to us where the facility is running out of surgical masks."

State officials, though, say they have shipped substantial supplies to nursing homes. Jared Moskowitz, director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management, said his agency had provided 3.85 million masks as of Sunday with another 4 million set to arrive Monday.

Coronavirus Prompts Changes to New Lease Accounting Rules

New lease accounting rules should be changed to make tracking rent concessions simpler for companies hit by the coronavirus crisis, and some other standards should be delayed, global standard setters decided Friday.

The International Accounting Standards Board recommended waiving a requirement for companies to recalculate lease agreements if they were allowed a break from payments during the pandemic. The IASB also voted to delay some planned changes to other accounting standards for up to a year, although it wouldn't allow any further delays to new insurance rules being introduced in 2023, or to accounting standard changes necessitated by the introduction of new benchmark interest rates.
