Wyoming voters to decide on slashing property taxes, enacting income tax - mlive.com

WYOMING, MI – Wyoming is proposing to slash its property tax in half but enact an income tax in a move that would allow the city to hire 27 more firefighters, 13 more police officers and invest further in parks.

Newport News' real estate taxes might decrease for first time since 2008 - Daily Press

The city manager's recommended budget includes a real estate tax reduction of 2 cents per hundred dollars of assessed value, from $1.22 to $1.20. The reduction would equate to about $4 million in savings for residential property owners and businesses, according to City Manager Cindy Rohlf.

The assessed real estate values in the city have increased across all property types to the tune of 14.44%. Every property type has a different rate — all have increased, but 14.44% is the overall average.

FASB issues expanded hedge accounting standard - Journal of Accountancy

A new Accounting Standards Update (ASU) aims to better align hedge accounting with an organization's risk management strategies.

The ASU, issued Monday by FASB, expands the current single-layer hedging model to allow multiple-layer hedges of a single closed portfolio of prepayable financial assets or one or more beneficial interests secured by a portfolio of prepayable financial instruments under the method.
