SU seniors will have a graduation ceremony, after all: Syracuse University chancellor Kent Syverud announced on Wednesday that commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2020, which had been postponed because of the coronavirus, will take place in the Carrier Dome after all -- but after the renovations on the roof have been completed and after health officials agree that large gatherings are safe. "I promise you, we will make it special, meaningful and memorable," Syverud said .

U.K. broadcaster Channel 4 has unveiled a raft of budget-cutting measures to deal with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Among the measure are an immediate 20 percent pay cut voluntarily taken by all executive and non-executive board members, alongside the suspension of the 2020 bonus scheme for executive directors.
The company — which is publicly owned and entirely commercially funded — also said Wednesday that it expects to reduce its 2020 content budget by £150 million ($185 million), while finding a further £95 million ($118 million) of savings through a review of planned projects and investments, including a reduction of marketing budgets.

Indian budget hotel chain Oyo has pledged to do “the right thing” by offering free accommodation to coronavirus frontline workers and foreigners who are stranded overseas, even as the USD 10 billion start-up continues to battle criticism over its treatment of hotel owners.
Oyo’s founder and CEO, Ritesh Agarwal, said selected sites from its international network of hotels and homestays would be designated to house health-care professionals, police and army staff working on the frontlines of the outbreak, including in the US and India. Others would be repurposed as “makeshift” isolation rooms for asymptomatic people, or those who test positive for COVID-19 but do not show any symptoms.

A private prison company is walking away from plans to build an immigration detention center in Uinta County, the company and county officials confirmed Wednesday.
"It's off the table now," said Eric South, chairman of the Uinta County Commission. "All these bleeding hearts and liberals ought to be happy about it."

The county posted a statement attributed to the company on its website. A spokeswoman for CoreCivic, the company that planned to build the facility, confirmed the validity of the statement.
