Latrobe holds line on taxes, eyes shared code enforcement officer | TribLIVE.com

Latrobe Council prepared for the coming year on Monday by finalizing a $6.5 million budget that holds the line on real estate taxes.

Though the tax will remain at 21.5 mills next year, property owners in the city will begin paying a new stormwater management fee.

The fee, assessed at $90 per equivalent dwelling unit, is meant to help cover the city’s costs as it moves to comply with a state directive to reduce sediment flowing into local streams by 10% each year over five years.

Scott Township 2021 budget holds line on taxes, no service cuts proposed | TribLIVE.com

Scott Township used a little more than $2 million in money left over from this year’s budget to make up for an expected drop in revenue in 2021.

Supervisors voted unanimously Dec. 8 to approve a more than $12.6 million spending plan with no tax increase. The budget is about $500,000 less than this year.

The unchanged tax rate, which is 5.1711 mills, means the owner of a property assessed at $150,000 will continue to pay $776 a year to help finance township services.

Greensburg keeps property taxes flat in uncertain budget year | TribLIVE.com

Greensburg will need to be financially flexible in 2021 due to the uncertainties of the coronavirus pandemic and ensuing economic recovery, according to Randy Finfrock, councilman in charge of accounts and finance.

Council unanimously approved an $11.8 million budget Monday at a virtual meeting held via the Zoom videoconferencing platform.

“We’re not in control of this, and that bothers me more than I like to let on,” Finfrock said. “This is a covid budget, this isn’t a Randy budget.”
