Top business leaders say the global economy is facing its worst crisis in a hundred years, and "downside risks remain elevated" unless urgent reforms are enacted during the G-20 summit hosted by Saudi Arabia in November.
The B20 is an engagement group that seeks to represent the voice of the global business community across all member states and economic sectors in the Group of 20.
"As the economic recovery evolves over the next couple of years, downside risks remain elevated," Al-Benyan said, raising concern about low productivity growth and rising inequalities.

Business leaders feel sidelined in COVID-19 recovery in NYC | Fox Business
New York City's business leaders have looked for ways to help the city during its looming financial crisis, as they have done previously in tough times, but some say they haven't found much of a partner in Mayor Bill de Blasio.

The new coronavirus pandemic has devastated the city's economy and erased billions of dollars in tax revenue. Nearly 650,000 people were unemployed as of August and thousands of small businesses have closed since March.

US election 2020: 'Trump's done what he said he would for business' - BBC News
Like many Americans, Amy Fazackerley is worried about the economy. The 49-year-old runs a small business near Washington, DC in Virginia, which sells mats that roll up into bags - a product she invented in response to her sons' Lego mess and she sees mom-and-pop firms like hers closing every day.

But Ms Fazackerley's worries aren't changing her vote. The Republican backed Mr Trump in 2016 and will be voting for him again, thanks to his record promoting small business and confronting China over intellectual property theft - a key issue for her business, which faces a constant battle against knock-off products.
San Jose Expands and Extends Tax Break on Small Business Licenses – CBS San Francisco
The tax, which business owners pay annually to receive a license, ranges from $203 to as high as $163,745 depending on the number of workers the business employs.
For example, a sole proprietorship with only one employee would pay the base tax of $203 while a business with 20 employees pays $792. A business with 100 employees would pay more than $4,000 annually.
San Jose already has had a business tax exemption for sole proprietors earning less than twice the federal poverty level or $25,520, in revenues. Now, the city will no longer consider the number of workers a business employs and will only look at revenue and income to determine eligibility. The exemption takes effect Oct. 1 to Sept. 30, 2021.

“We need more conscious leaders who will lead with love, who will find win-win solutions to our problems, [Leaders who will] find the higher ground where Americans can begin to move together."
