SAExploration accused of $100M accounting fraud | Article | Compliance Week

Houston-based seismic data company SAExploration Holdings (SAE) has been accused by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of perpetrating a $100 million accounting fraud that involved routing payments through shell companies so it appeared to be legitimate revenue.

In addition, four former executives at SAE stole approximately $10 million of company funds for themselves, and two of them involved their spouses in the thefts, the SEC said.

SAExploration CEO, CFO accused of accounting fraud | CFO Dive

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed civil charges Thursday against publicly traded company SAExploration Holdings over an alleged "multi-year accounting fraud that falsely inflated the company's revenue and concealed the theft of millions of dollars."

In a complaint filed in the Southern District of New York, the SEC said former Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Hastings, along with former CFO and General Counsel Brent Whiteley, COO Brian Beatty, and Vice President of Operations Michael Scott engaged in an "elaborate, four-year-long fraud."

ROCKFORD — Two Rockford certified public accounting firms, Boeke & Associates LTD and Benning Group LLC, completed a merger Sept. 15.

Boeke & Associates has provided tax, accounting, auditing, consulting, payroll and numerous services to businesses, individuals and entities in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin for more than 40 years.
