Is Your Business Partner Holding You Back?

From an African proverb, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." There's no doubt that working alongside exceptional people, committed to shared goals, can ensure those goals are realized. But if you have a nagging feeling that your business partner isn't the right fit, you might not be going as far or as fast as you could be.

Your business partner is there to share in challenges and share in success. It's a significant role to hold, and too important a seat to not be filled by the right person. The purpose of a partnership is to double your output, not do half the work required. Any perceived imbalances cause resentment and too much of your energy becomes focused on holding the relationship together rather than building the business.

West Deer forms Community Development Corporation to help business owners | TribLIVE.com

West Deer leaders have created a Community Development Corporation to help the township’s existing businesses and look for ways to attract new ones.

A CDC steering committee made up of supervisors, Deer Lakes School Board members and business owners was formed in July, according to Supervisors Chairman Arlind Karpuzi.

Karpuzi said the supervisors had long discussed what they could do to help local businesses, but the devastating impact of the coronavirus pandemic on businesses really brought the idea for a CDC to the forefront.

The owner of a damaged Kenosha business rejected Trump's photo op.

President Trump's advance team wanted to show him commiserating with the owners of a burned-out camera shop during his Tuesday visit to Kenosha, Wis.

The only problem: the owners wanted nothing to do with Mr. Trump. So the White House did the next best thing — it found the store's former owner, who still owns the building that housed it before it was destroyed, and passed him off as a business owner aggrieved by the city's unrest following the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
