‘Shopopoly’ to showcase Downtown Pittsburgh’s business district | TribLIVE.com

The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership ’s latest promotion is a Golden Triangle take on an iconic board game.

“Monopoly” has become “ Shopopoly .” Customers who visit stores from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and get a color-coded game card (available at the shops or in Market Square) stamped to be entered into a drawing for prizes valued at $5,000.

No purchases are necessary, said Richard Hooper, vice-president of marketing and communications for Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership. There are 20 businesses and a shopper has to stop in several within a zone to be eligible for prizes. Some are offering additional incentives with purchases, he said.

USM Small Business Development Center Offers Online Workshops Amid COVID-19 Pandemic | The

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, counselors at The University of Southern Mississippi's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) have developed new ways to serve current and prospective clients.

As state-by-state lockdowns commenced last March, the SBDC began formulating a plan to maintain assistance without the customary in-person workshops. By April 1, the center had created online, "On-Demand" versions of its Business 101 Series workshops.

Local, state officials must clarify COVID-19 rules for business owners | Cage

We are nearly five months into the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns and restrictions in Nevada. Many small businesses remain under heavily restricted operations or completely shut down.

But even though the restrictions have been in place for some time, many business owners remain uncertain about the rules. We need a town hall meeting in which representatives of the state and local governments and the owners and managers of affected businesses can work together to make sure we're all doing this right.
