Money pouring into Massachusetts ballot question campaigns - News - southcoasttoday.com - New

BOSTON (AP) — Money, and a lot of it, is pouring into campaigns for the two questions on the November ballot in Massachusetts.

* * *

By far, most of the money has been raised by supporters and opponents of Question 1, which would expand the state's "Right to Repair" law by giving car owners and independent auto repair shops expanded access to mechanical data related to vehicle maintenance and repair.

Collectively, the two groups have pulled in more than $41.5 million, according to reports filed with the state Office of Campaign and Political Finance.

Were you following this:

Trump's taxes show money from foreign sources

As president, Donald Trump received more money from foreign sources than previously known. This is only one of many findings from an investigation by The New York Times , which obtained more than two decades of previously unreleased tax documents from Trump.

One particularly eye-opening revelation is that Trump paid only $750 in federal income taxes in 2016, the year he ran for office, and paid no income taxes at all during many other years.

Is chasing swing voters a waste of campaign money? - Marketplace

Election Day is just over a month away, although many votes are already being cast. That means it’s crunch time for campaigns and the many other groups that are spending money to sway voters as they face tough decisions on where and how to spend the hundreds of millions of dollars they have on hand .

Usually, that means spending time and money trying to reach undecided voters. But many political strategists are arguing this year that focusing on those voters has a pretty limited return on investment.

If the Velocity of Money Picks Up Will Inflation Soar?

35 days till election. Excellent question. I have seen food price inflation, especially around beef but almost none in a lot of other things, very curious. And at this point, how can anyone or any business be a good credit risk?

* * *

"Velocity is a useless, inconsistent measure of something that has morphed over time yet never had an independent existence of its own."

"A huge measurement problem exists. The Fed suspended mark-to-market accounting. Assets on the balance sheets of banks are now easily marked to fantasy."
