Oracle is reportedly in talks to buy TikTok’s US business - The Verge

Oracle has expressed an interest in acquiring TikTok, according to the Financial Times , giving Microsoft a potential competitor in its bid to control the Chinese social video app in the US.

President Trump issued an executive order on Friday ordering ByteDance to sell its US business within 90 days. The FT notes that Oracle's billionaire co-founder Ellison is one of the few US tech executives who has been openly supportive of Trump, though it's not clear whether Oracle would be the White House's preferred suitor for TikTok.

Comptroller Scott Stringer lays out small business economic agenda

“It’s on us to save Main Street,” Stringer said in an interview detailing his small-business initiative. “We developed this report recognizing we can’t reopen the economy in the same way we closed it. Going back to the status quo will not serve the businesses and workforce in a post-pandemic city.”

According to Stringer’s analysis, small businesses in New York account for 39% of Covid-related job losses.
