A business that sticks to its budget has a better chance of success

In essence, you were creating your budget for the next year. You were telling your lender or investor that this is what you expect your revenues and expenses to be in a given month during the next year.

On what did you base those numbers? Wild ideas? Educated guesses? Hopefully, you based them on your knowledge of your business and its related industry. And, you took into account any affects seasonality may have on your business. (That sounds a lot like a budget.)

Boston, MA, Aug. 27, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IDG's CIO – the executive-level IT media brand providing insight into business technology leadership – releases the CIO Pandemic Business Impact Study , revealing that IT budgets are rebounding.

Tech Budgets See a Resurgence
In March, when the pandemic first hit U.S. organizations, there was undoubtedly some concern with how IT budgets would change year over year. CIO's COVID-19 Impact Study reflected that uncertainty with 35% of organizations expecting their IT budgets to decrease in the next 12 months, (up from just 7% in December 2019). The good news is that budgets are swinging back as organizations realize the value and need of new technology solutions.

Grocery delivery affects budget - Columbian.com

With a 10-month-old baby to think about, my husband and I have kept trips to the store to a minimum out of an abundance of caution during the pandemic. We’re fortunate to have just about every grocery delivery service at our disposal — and we’ve taken advantage.

In between orders from Costco, Whole Foods, Imperfect Foods and more, I’ve noticed our virtual shopping habit is changing how we budget. We’re accounting for new grocery-related expenses. We’re also more deliberate about what we buy.

First District Rep. Jim Hagedorn is coming under fire from critics and congressional ethics experts who contend the first-term Republican violated government rules by directing more than $100,000 in public funds to a company partially owned by one of his staffers.

The payments, made between September 2019 and March 2020, are part of larger pattern of questionable spending by Hagedorn, who expended more of his total office budget in the first quarter of this year than any other member of Congress. Earlier this month, Hagedorn announced he had fired his chief of staff , Peter Su, after learning about the spending activities.

Ensuring Plant O&M Expense Matches its Market Mission | Biomassmagazine.com

Managing operations and maintenance (O&M) expense is a critical component in ensuring a company’s competitive position within the market.  For biomass-fueled power generation facilities, it is of key importance that operating companies understand the market mission of each of their facilities and develop spending rationale that supports that mission.

Market mission can vary significantly from plant to plant, even within the same company. Numerous determinant variables can influence the mission, such as market opportunity and contractual commitments. The market mission, once understood, will help companies determine what is most important among the three keys to success: cost control, reliability and efficiency.
