District attorney hires forensic accounting experts to aid Trump criminal probe - The Washington
NEW YORK — The Manhattan District Attorney's Office has retained forensic accounting specialists to aid its criminal investigation of President Trump and his business operations, as prosecutors ramp up their scrutiny of his company's real estate transactions, according to people familiar with the matter.
District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. opened the investigation in 2018 to examine alleged hush-money payments made to two women who, during Trump's first presidential campaign, claimed to have had affairs with him years earlier. The probe has since expanded, and now includes the Trump Organization's activities more broadly, said the people familiar with the matter. Vance's office has suggested in court filings that bank, tax and insurance fraud are areas of exploration.

American Indian Graduate Center invests in future accounting professionals | News | charkoosta.com
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – American Indian Graduate Center has created the Investing in Native CPAs Program, a $2M scholarship initiative that will fund 150 Native scholars pursuing accounting and finance degrees with the goal of increasing Native Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) within the next 10 years.
Funded with a generous $1 million gift from the Johnson Scholarship Foundation and a $1 million match from American Indian Graduate Center, which was made possible in part by MacKenzie Scott's unrestricted donation , the Investing in Native CPAs initiative will increase diversity in the accounting and finance fields. The scholarship will support Native students with tuition and the cost of exam fees required for professional licensure, such as the Uniform CPA Examination Fee.

This year showed us that disruption could happen at any time, but as a forward-thinking and innovative profession, it also showed us that we were prepared to handle it. While it's true that 2020 disrupted how accountants worked, it didn't change the importance of what we do — in fact, it showed us that we are more valuable than ever to our clients and employers because of our agility, adaptability and ability to problem-solve during times of extreme challenge.
We can be almost certain that the next few years will continue to bring the unexpected. We'll need to keep a sharp eye out for emerging trends and changes impacting the business environment, and therefore our profession, and evolve to continue meeting the demands of a constantly changing, disruptive world.

RSM acquires Salesforce consultancy MondayCall | Accounting Today
RSM US LLP has bolstered its Salesforce consulting practice by acquiring substantially all of the assets of MondayCall, a San Francisco-based consultancy that specializes in the cloud-based customer relationship management system.
Earlier this month, the two firms announced they had signed an agreement for RSM to acquire MondayCall's assets, and the deal was expected to close Thursday. Financial terms were not disclosed. RSM, based in Chicago, ranked No. 5 on Accounting Today 's 2020 list of the Top 100 Firms, with over $2.4 billion in annual revenue. The firm has over 43,000 people in more than 120 countries.
