New York City's FY 2022 budget gap grows to $5.25 billion | Financial Post

A decline in property tax revenue related to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has punched a bigger hole in the upcoming budget for New York City, which needs Democrats in control of the White House and the U.S. Congress to deliver major fiscal stimulus, Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Thursday.

The gap in the nearly $92.3 billion preliminary budget for the fiscal year that begins on July 1 grew to $5.25 billion from the city's November financial plan projection of $3.75 billion.

What Retail Investors Want From Budget 2021

Many investors keenly follow the tabling of Union budget in Parliament, but this year the interest will be greater than usual. There are hopes that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will introduce measures to revive the economy and put it on a rapid growth path. Further, investors are also hoping that some of the investor-unfriendly measures introduced in the past few years will be rolled back. Here are some proposals that can help boost investor confidence.

Dividends from stocks and mutual funds were tax free till last year; however, Budget 2020 brought them within taxable income. Now, all dividends received are added to the income of the individual, taxed at the applicable slab rate, making compliance more cumbersome. This has been a dampener for many investors who relied on dividends for a tax-free receipt. Investors in the higher 30-40 percent tax brackets are particularly hit by this measure.

TSMC's Big 2021 Capex Budget Might Have Something to Do With Intel - RealMoney

The very aggressive 2021 capex forecast that TSMC ( TSM )  shared in its Q4 report  on Thursday might be a by-product of both expected demand from current major clients and expectations of large future orders from a well-known chip giant.

As usual, TSMC's Q4 sales ($12.68 billion, up 22% annually) were already known via monthly sales reports. And with top customers such as Apple ( AAPL ) , AMD ( AMD ) , Nvidia ( NVDA ) , Qualcomm ( QCOM ) and Mediatek seeing pretty healthy demand right now, TSMC's Q1 guidance for revenue of $12.7 billion to $13 billion -- up 23%-26% annually and above a $12.3 billion FactSet consensus -- wasn't a total shock, either.

Theatre and Production Marketing: What should my budget be?

Budgets are always tight, and coming off a year like 2020 that sentence has never been more true. Unfortunately, while your marketing budget is already stretched, here are a few reasons why it is likely too small, and why it is imperative that you find ways to make it a larger piece of your overall spending pie. So, how much should you be spending (and budgeting) for your marketing needs as you plan a season or a production?

In this, data is going to be your friend. The more information you can compile about how your marketing campaigns are performing is important - but you shouldn't be analyzing that data in hopes of a way to cut costs, but in a way to spend more efficiently. As you analyze and shift the structure of your campaigns based on past performance, make sure you're also keeping an eye on how limiting one element may be impacting the performance of another.

Banking on Budget: Keeping an eye out for growth focus, PSU reforms | Business Standard Column

The Sensex is close to hitting 50k, having gone up almost 20 per cent in the past 12 months and almost doubled from its March lows. While this would not have been expected a few months ago, at the peak of the Covid-19 crisis, the market has been on a tear amid a V-shaped rebound in the economy and global liquidity.

The Indian stock market is hitting an all-time high and if one were to look fundamentally, on an earnings basis, it is trading close to one of its highest valuations ever. India is trading at one of the highest premium when compared with global as well as emerging market indices. This implies market participants’ very positive view on the Indian economy. We have already seen forecasts of more than 20 per cent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for Nifty 50 companies.
