An HFD spokesperson said the investigation, which has been completed, revealed that the construction was determined to be connected to training props for classes. The department did not require a permit.
Through the audit, investigators found 390 hours of overtime transactions since 2015 in a sample of 45 fire department employees. A third of those hours lacked proper documentation.

Court win with uncertain outcome for state farm workers | Nov. 18-24, 2020 | Real Change
The Washington Supreme Court ruled that dairy farmworkers are entitled to overtime pay — a decision that collapses a loophole in labor law that excluded farmworkers.
The 5-4 decision found that dairy workers had extremely dangerous jobs — work made even more dangerous by long hours — and were therefore covered under the existing Minimum Wage Act, which "is to protect the health and safety of Washington workers," the justices wrote.
The Minimum Wage Act exemption for farm workers violates the state constitution's promise of equality under the law, wrote Justice Steven Gonzalez in his concurring opinion.
A Higher Minimum Wage Depends on Georgia Senate Runoff
Georgia Sen. David Perdue claims in his official biography that during his time as CEO of Dollar General from 2003 to 2007, "he created thousands of quality jobs and helped working families make it from payday to payday."
During that time, Dollar General opened up over 100 new stores in Georgia, bringing the total to 464 in the state. While Perdue earned over $50 million in total compensation from the company, the employees holding those allegedly quality jobs launched multiple lawsuits claiming that Perdue's generous executive compensation was the product of wage theft and systemic exploitation.
