Madison tops Money.com’s ‘Best Places to Retire’ rankings | Business News | madison.com

In a 2018 file photo, a children's swimming pool is piled high with fresh green beans at the Dane County Farmers Market, the largest farmers market in the country.

Apparently undeterred by blizzards and bitter cold in the winter here, Money.com has ranked Madison No. 1 in its annual “Best Places to Retire” rankings for 2020 .

Money said it factored in about 47,500 data points and considered housing, climate, diversity and safety in crafting its rankings.

And here's another article:

Dear Penny: How do I save money when my wife refuses to let Me work more?

I am not where I want to be financially. I am in the military, married and have two young kids, 4 and 6. My wife is a stay-at-home mom and has no interest/desire of getting a job, part time or otherwise. I want to get a second job to supplement my income for savings, but my wife won't let me because she points out I won't be around much to help with the kids.

I've recently started day trading to supplement my income, but as of yet, I'm not profitable. I do know it takes a lot of time and practice to be a successful day-trader.

Opinion | Money didn't buy love in the 2020 election - The Washington Post

This is not to say that an actual dumpster fire would have been a better use for the $14 billion that Republicans and Democrats are expected to have spent by the time this "cycle" finishes (that's an estimate from the Center for Responsive Politics).

But surely there were higher purposes to which hedge fund magnate Tom Steyer could have devoted $341.7 million than his vanity presidential campaign.

As suggested by the GOP's retention of at least 50 votes in the Senate, despite massive Democratic spending, cash wastage this year occurred disproportionately on the blue side of the ledger. As of mid-October, Democrats and affiliated groups had spent $6.9 billion, compared with $3.8 billion for the Republican side.

Additional money made available for businesses in Pueblo County

PUEBLO COUNTY — As Pueblo continues to struggle with COVID-19, additional money is being made available for businesses in the county.

The City of Pueblo is using $1 million from the half-cent sales tax fund to provide grants of up to $5,000.

The funds are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Corporate businesses are not eligible to apply, the Mayor's Office said.

"Our small businesses have gone through a difficult year, and we need to make sure our local economy can get through these new health orders by the state. That is why the City has made available $1 million from our COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund to help Pueblo businesses right now," Pueblo Mayor Gradisar said. "I call on every Puebloan to do their part to support local businesses this holiday season.
