Tax - IRS Draft Regs: OIRA Review Offers Fresh Opportunity - Lexology
"There's concern that giving OIRA greater authority will extend the IRS rulemaking process and possibly politicize it to a greater extent."

For many years, the IRS avoided review by the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) of its proposed regulations under a 1983 agreement between the Department of the Treasury and the White House’s Office of Management and Budget.
In Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research v. United States (2011), the Supreme Court clarified that the APA applies to the IRS in the same manner as other agencies. Motor Vehicles Manufacturers Association v. State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. (1983) was a milestone, though it didn’t address tax issues.

New Spousal Support Changes for Dependent Spouses in 2020 | Doylestown, PA Patch
On December 28, 2018, new Pennsylvania spousal support changes and APL guidelines were issued that took effect on January 1, 2019. Litigants and lawyers both need to understand the new Pennsylvania Guidelines. If it is time for an award of support, everyone who gets or pays spousal support (or alimony pendente lite, "APL") will be affected by the change to the support rules.
Since 1980, a dependent spouse can get support from the income superior spouse during the pendency of the divorce called alimony pendente lite (APL). There are some limits as to the length of time and in some cases, the dependent spouse will not qualify. In most cases, however, when a married couple is separated, spousal support applies; if a divorce is pending, APL applies regardless of the claim that the recipient is at fault.
Room Tax Rift | Local News | Bend | The Source Weekly - Bend, Oregon
D ata from market research firm AirDNA reveals that the City of Bend may not be getting all the tax dollars it's entitled to from vacation rental operators.
AirDNA listed 1,411 active rentals on Airbnb or VRBO within Bend city limits as of last month. Eighty-five percent, or 1,200, are reported as whole-house rentals. City of Bend data provided to the Source Weekly through a public records request in November revealed that the City was collecting transient room tax from just 965 properties—meaning the owners of hundreds of properties may not be reporting their rental incomes to the City of Bend, nor paying the required transient room taxes.
Are we entering a new era of farming? | Letters | Environment | The Guardian
There is no disagreement that farming is a risky enterprise, needing good forward planning and security, and with climate change this will get worse. Having farmed under the transitional arrangements, with arable area and hill subsidies still in place, some sort of transition will still be necessary and a fallback, either through tax regulations or a form of "agrilite" subsidy support mechanism, will help farmers in the transition.
All parts of the UK can benefit from more environmentally friendly farming practices, but to succeed the regulations must be less intrusive and not dilute much of the good work, done by the UK and EU in partnership, on reducing the input of agricultural chemicals, and on water and air quality
