Case: Wage & Hour/Overtime Exemption (S.D.N.Y.)

A former chef at a chain of New York restaurants may not proceed with his claim that the chain failed to properly compensate him for overtime, as required by the Fair Labor Standards Act and the New York Labor Law. He fell within the executive exemption to the FLSA's requirements because his salary was over the threshold amount, he had a large number of managerial responsibilities, he supervised the kitchen staff, and he made recommendations about hiring and firing decisions.

This may worth something:

Unions for All is part of a truly just culture in Iowa and America

The "just culture" initiative is an attempt to make caregivers feel more supported, so they can speak up about problems and improve patient care. Unfortunately, the initiative is heavy on rhetoric and light on real reforms. Instead of reversing the attacks on caregivers, the administration is hiring a consultant to promote "proactive communication" and build a more "high-reliability organization."

But buzzwords won't fix the problems at UIHC — or any other workplace in America. That's why our union is calling for a real culture change at work. It's called Unions for All , and it's a historic effort to shift the balance of power back to American workers.
