HARRISBURG (WSIL) -- For the past few weeks News 3 has received tips about money missing from the Harrisburg Water Department.
We've been digging deeper into those claims and now know more than $1,300 in cash is gone.
Illinois State Police are investigating that missing money, and the Harrisburg City Council held a closed door meeting Thursday morning to discuss what's going on.
Following that meeting, Harrisburg Mayor John McPeek told News 3 the water department was missing $1,387.24.

Pamela Duncan was an agent for the United Sioux Tribes of South Dakota Development Corporation. Thursday she signed a federal court document admitting she used the Corporation’s credit card to pay for $2,800 worth of gym memberships.
The document also says she used $1,500 worth of federal money to pay for a personal attorney, took two laptops from the corporation and owes $2,800 for payroll advances.
DELL RAPIDS, SD (KELO) -- As KELOLAND communities brace for the possibility of spring flooding, others are still dealing with the unfinished business of flooding from last year. The City of Dell Rapids will find out this summer whether FEMA will help pay to remove 10 flood-damaged homes along the Big Sioux River. Some people are saddened about the prospects of losing so many homes in their neighborhood.
I-44 EXPANSION: MoDOT asks feds for money to turn Springfield portion into 6 lanes
MoDOT submitted a grant application this week, requesting nearly $40 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The money would pay to widen I-44 from West Bypass to U.S. 65 to six lanes. The project would include replacing six bridges and a sound wall study.
MoDOT points to the heavy load of traffic on I-44, with about 25% to 30% of it being commercial trucks. The city of Springfield agreed to add $2 million to the project. Greene County commissioners agreed to another $1 million. The overall project would cost $68 million. MoDOT hopes to receive nearly $40 million through an Infrastructure for Rebuilding America federal grant.

Per James Wagner of the New York Times , Mets fan Frankie Wilton explained why he used Venmo to wire the team money.

First District County Supervisor Das Williams — running for reelection in a bitter, narrow battle against challenger Laura Capps — spoke alongside his supporters Thursday morning in a show against Capps's most recent political onslaught suggesting he is beholden to the oil industry.
"I never thought that I would see the day where Das Wiliams is being attacked for being in the pocket of Big Oil," said Katie Davis, chair of the Santa Barbara Sierra Club, which endorsed Williams. Davis was one of three environmentalists who spoke in support of Williams above an abandoned oil well at Lookout Park in Summerland.

Money Sender Azimo to Use Ripple Tech and XRP for Philippines Remittance Corridor - CoinDesk
European money transfer service Azimo is tapping tech from blockchain firm Ripple for its remittance corridor to the Philippines.
Announced Tuesday , Azimo will begin using Ripple's On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) service speed up the transfer of customer's funds. The service will notably utilize the XRP cryptocurrency to move value to the Southeast Asian nation "in seconds," where it is converted into Philippines pesos and passed to recipients.
Remittance firms provide a vital service for the large numbers of Filippino workers abroad looking to send funds back home to their families. The market is a valuable one, hitting a record high of $33.5 billion in 2019, 3.9 percent higher than previous year.
