The Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced Spuds in Boyne City will receive a $25,000 grant.
It is part of their Match on Main program, which is aimed at helping small businesses in main street communities.
“Spuds” is a home furnishing store with a location already in Gaylord. They are expanding to Boyne City.

“$25,000 to a small business is huge money,” Kelsie King-Duff, Boyne City Main Street Executive Director. “It really makes a difference when they are crunching numbers and trying to make a space work, that’s definitely a huge boost for them.”

AKRON, Ohio – Akron is launching a new program aimed at supporting small businesses and filling empty storefronts in the city's retail districts.
The "Rubber City Match" program, which Mayor Dan Horrigan is set to formally announce Wednesday at his State of the City address , will provide new and existing businesses with financial aid, technical assistance and vacant retail properties, the city said Tuesday in a news release.

Doña Ana County awaits business plan for crisis triage center
LAS CRUCES - The long-empty Doña Ana County Crisis Triage Center will begin offering jail diversion and community reentry services in April, but a business plan is still being formulated to address how the center will open its crisis services to the public.
County Health and Human Services Director Jamie Michael and County Manager Fernando Macias told the Doña Ana County Commission Tuesday the crisis triage center — which was completed in 2013 but never opened due to a lack of a provider and operating funds — will open April 1.

An expensive western bypass was one idea James Arbuckle, vice president with Halff Associates, reported to the Fort Smith Board of Directors from a downtown traffic and truck study conducted throughout 2019.
Arbuckle, project manager of the Fort Smith Downtown Traffic and Truck Study, and his team spent most of last year meeting with key players, looking at survey results and reviewing traffic studies in order to come up with viable solutions to the downtown traffic. Arbuckle presented the report to the Board Tuesday (Feb. 25) during a study session.
