READING - The restaurant group that operates the Oye's Chinese Restaurant and Bar off of Walker's Brook Drive must compensate dozens of employees for nearly $165,000 in unpaid overtime wages, a US District Court judge ordered earlier this month.
According to a consent decree negotiated between lawyers for the U.S. Department of Labor and attorneys representing the Andover-based restaurant group, at least 75 workers are entitled to the back wages after being bilked out of overtime compensation between Jan. of 2017 and Aug. of 2020.

Police and firefighters top list of Duxbury town earners in 2020
DUXBURY – Six firefighters and four police officers earned more than a combined $475,000 in overtime pay last year in Duxbury, part of a total of $1.85 million spent on overtime.
Fire Chief Kevin Nord was the next biggest earner last year with a total salary of $180,589. His police counterpart, Chief Stephen McDonald, was paid $175,046.

Last week, Holyoke's acting mayor fired Rafael Roca, a police officer who posted a video to YouTube making allegations of corruption and racism within the Holyoke Police Department, Daily Hampshire Gazette reported.
