Sources claim Colorado’s new overtime pay rules for agricultural workers are too weak

Regulations from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment would phase in overtime pay, equivalent to time-and-a-half, over a few years, with farm workers receiving overtime after working 60 hours a week starting in 2022

But according to a coalition of groups that helped pass this year's sweeping expansion of labor rights for people who work on the state's farms and ranches, the new overtime pay rule for Colorado agricultural workers doesn't go far enough.

Police overtime bill cost UK taxpayers £735m in two years | UK | News | Express.co.uk

The figures, obtained through Freedom of Information requests, show that London’s Metropolitan Police had the highest overtime spend at £282,307,942. The disclosures have hiked concerns about the cost to the taxpayer of funding overtime.

A sergeant working in a Metropolitan Police custody suite racked up £55,198.85. The British Transport Police said it’s highest overtime earner was a sergeant who was paid £46,011.49.

Tyler Technologies Workers Get $3.25 Million Wage Deal Approved

A $3.25 million revised settlement between Tyler Technologies Inc. and nearly 300 software consultants received final approval from a federal judge in California, resolving claims that the employees were misclassified as exempt from overtime pay.

Tyler initially agreed to pay $3.15 million to end the federal and state class action. But the software company agreed to provide an extra $108,300, after learning that its original calculations were based on incomplete employment records.

Gov. DeSantis taps new Department of Corrections boss

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday named Ricky Dixon as Secretary of the Florida Department of Corrections.

Dixon replaces outgoing Secretary Mark Inch , who is retiring. Inch took over at the DOC in January 2019.

Dixon is no stranger to the state prison system. A 25-year veteran, the Florida Gulf Coast University grad has held numerous positions throughout his career. He most recently served Deputy Secretary, a second-in-command position that oversaw the agency’s overall operations.
