Economics, CS faculty moving into $90 million Cummings Center this month - The Tufts Daily

Faculty from the Departments of Economics and Computer Science this month are moving into the university's newest academic facility at the intersection of Boston and College Avenues .

Named for Medford native Bill Cummings (LA'58) and his wife Joyce, the 148,000-square-foot building is the latest in a series of university investments in infrastructure supportive of multidisciplinary learning.

Ithaca weighing the future of the Streatery's impact on economics versus logistics - The Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y.—The Aurora Streatery has quickly become a stable of warm-weather downtown activities, from the jovial, outdoor community atmosphere to the always entertaining (and sometimes comical) musical acts that perform regularly nearby.

In 2020 and 2021, the Streatery has been established on the 100 block of North Aurora Street, with concrete barriers guarding the two entries of the block, allowing restaurants to push their outdoor dining areas to the curbs in outside of their storefronts and making the street a pedestrian

The economics of pot: Price of cannabis flower drops 50% from last year | SierraSun.com

Last year, Elevation 2477' — currently the sole legal cannabis retailer in Nevada County — purchased cannabis flower by the pound for $1,100 to $1,200. According to a wholesaler, prices have dropped by 50% this year.

"Wholesale flower prices that we are seeing right now around the state are closer to $450 to $600 for freshly harvested, high quality sun grown," said Basil McMahon, who also chairs the board of the Nevada County Cannabis Alliance.

The New School for Social Research Receives Nearly $1 Million Gift to Advance the Study of

Since 2017, 15 PhD students in the Department of Economics at The New School for Social Research (NSSR) have been named Harry Magdoff and Paul Sweezy Fellows. A $1 million gift from an anonymous donor helped establish the fellowships, which provide recipients with three years of full funding.
