General Electric Co. aims to create a market-leading power company as the conglomerate breaks into three . But it faces stiff competition from rivals also repositioning their businesses to cash in on a global renewable-energy boom.

Johnson & Johnson to split into two companies, separating consumer health business

Shares of Johnson & Johnson jumped in premarket trading Friday, after the health care giant announced it its splitting itself into two publicly traded companies.

Shares of Johnson & Johnson were up 4 percent in premarket trading after the announcement. J&J did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Richemont in talks to sell stake in online business to Farfetch | Reuters
