COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Senate again has passed a bill that would exempt employers from paying overtime to workers for commuting and checking messages off-hours.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The operator of the Y-12 Nuclear Complex in Oak Ridge is being sued by its employees for overtime pay. The 727 employees of Consolidated Nuclear Security say they are owed backpay from as far back as three years ago.
The lawsuit was filed Monday in federal court in Knoxville . The plaintiffs are seeking injunctive and declaratory relief, backpay, interest on the backpay, and attorney's fees and costs.

QUINCY — The city of Quincy spent more than $10 million on overtime for police officers and firefighters last year, 36 city employees made more than $200,000 and three of the city's top 150 earners were women, data from the city's 2020 payroll records show.
Police and firefighters made up 193 of the city's top 200 earners, largely due to overtime expenses that topped $10.2 million last year. Five police officers clocked more than $90,000 in overtime pay each, according to a list of city salaries obtained by The Patriot Ledger.

Maine's minimum wage to increase to $12.75 per hour in 2022 | PenBay Pilot
AUGUSTA — Pursuant to Maine law (Maine statute 26 MRS §664), effective January 1, 2022, the state minimum wage will increase from $12.15 to $12.75 per hour, based on data recently made available by the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In addition to the minimum wage, the new "tip wage," or service employee minimum wage, in 2022 will be $6.38 per hour. This means that service employees must receive at least a direct cash wage of $6.38 per hour from the employer.
