Iowa ranks 9th nationally for fiscal health in Truth in Accounting report | Washington Examiner

Iowa received a "B" in "financial condition" on its report card from Truth in Accounting, a government watchdog, as it released its Financial State of the States 2021 report Tuesday.

"[Federal support from COVID-19 related grants and the surplus] will help the state to weather any future public health or economic crises and downturns in the market, which can cause the value of a government's assets to fluctuate," the report said.

Vermont ski resorts are bracing themselves for a tricky winter season on account of worker shortages, with some resorts training accounting or marketing staff to fit ski boots.

Solimano said that over the summer he had to stop people booking hotel rooms because he couldn't find enough housekeepers. He's expecting to be short of between 20% and 30% of his workforce this winter, he said.
