MCW hears from new business manager | News, Sports, Jobs - Fairmont Sentinel

SHERBURN– Before the Martin County West School Board meeting on Monday the school board had a special session with the new Business Manager, Todd Netzke, from School Management Services company.

He began by stating that the former business management did an excellent job. He then compared the years of 2019-2020 and 2021 so far.

Wall Street fell for a fourth straight day on Tuesday, adding to its
worst decline in months after a day of turbulent trading.

After swinging between gains and losses, the S&P 500 ended the day marginally lower. On Monday, the index dropped 1.7 percent, its sharpest fall since May, as fears of a potential default at the property giant China Evergrande Group sent shock waves through global markets.

Facebook announces portable Portal Go, Portal for Business

Facebook unveiled Tuesday the third generation of its Portal video-calling devices and a new service that will allow businesses to deploy fleets of the devices to their employees.

It shows Facebook is still bullish on video calling screens, and that it expects people will want to continue video chatting. The company first unveiled its Portal devices in 2018 and hasn't revealed any sales numbers.

Business Canvas, a Korea-based document management SaaS company, closes $2.5M seed round –

Business Canvas , the South Korean document management SaaS company behind Typed, announced today it has raised a $2.5 million seed round led by Mirae Asset Venture Investment , with participation from Kakao Ventures and Nextrans Inc .

The seed round will be used for accelerating product development and the global launch of an open beta for its AI-powered document management platform. The company opened an office in Santa Clara, California this year to spur its global expansion.

Med City startup wins first in state business competition | Post Bulletin

A Med City startup took home the top prize of $50,000 on Monday night at Minnesota's most popular business competition, the MN Cup.

Nanodropper , which makes and sells a precision eye drop bottle adapter, pitched and won first place at the largest statewide business pitch competition in the country. In the contest's 16 years, it is the first company from the student division to win the grand prize.
