When you have a job you enjoy and you're making enough to pay your bills, it's easy to just feel grateful. I grew up thinking that if you were a "good person," you didn't care about money.

Money though, isn't just about material possessions: it can be used to help advance nearly any goal, whether your objective is political, social, or environmental. Asking for a raise can be one of the least selfish things you can do. Here are five reasons to ask for money at work that have nothing to do with designer clothes or exotic vacations.

Here are smart money moves to make now as the economy bounces back

Covid-19 vaccinations are on the rise. Mask mandates are being stripped away. Businesses are reopening.

Many households are still dealing with the impact of the pandemic and will be for many years, even as the economy recovers. Jill On Money: Should kids be able to invest?

One of the best investor developments of the past decade is how technology has made the process of putting money to work so much easier.

After the advent of index funds 50 years ago, the ability to use an app to buy and sell at low or no cost has allowed millions of investors globally to access markets without struggling to navigate an antiquated system that often required an expensive intermediary.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that we have essentially given a lot of people the keys to our cars. These are people who haven’t been behind the wheel and have not yet taken drivers education. I thought about that when I learned that Fidelity had rolled out a new product: The Fidelity Youth Account. It’s touted as an “account where teens 13 to 17 can learn to spend, save, and invest.

Show Me the Money: Car shopping tips amid shortage

We continue our series on the new car shortage. Memorial Day is usually a time to score some big deals but this year, that’s not going to be the case.

More and more people are getting vaccinated and are ready to travel this summer. Combine that with the computer chip shortage and supply just can’t keep up with the demand for cars.

“What’s really happening is the people who used to get the bigger discounts more than $500, $1,000, probably $2,000, $5,000,” said Jessica Caldwell, Edmunds. "You’ve seen all those advertisements. We’re seeing a lot less of those these days which means inventory is tightening up and there are just fewer deals out there.”

"Poppy Lady" raises money for veterans

STURGIS, S.D. (KEVN) - A poem by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae titled "Flanders Fields" sets the scene for The American Legion's official flower.

Ruth Mechling spends every one of her Memorial Day Weekends selling a plastic version of the flower to raise money for veterans.

"Well, you know, when I was younger and a child growing up, on Memorial Day Weekend anybody would be asking for donations on the street, but you can't do that anymore. You have to get permission from the proprietor of the store," said Mechling.
