CLOQUET, Minn.– Following the loss of Duluth Police Department’s K9-Luna this winter, one Cloquet area business stepped in to show their support for the DPD. Friday night at the event, K9 Luna's handler Officer Aaron Haller spoke about the support he’s gotten from the community.
The check was given to the Northland K9 Foundation and K9 Haas and Luna’s handler officer Aaron Haller. Rendezvous raised $8,372 through their inaugural 5K race, which saw over 500 runners last Saturday.

In mid April, the tech giant Oracle Corp. announced plans to relocate some of its California operations to Nashville, bringing 8,500 jobs and a $1.2 billion investment in Middle Tennessee. Just a week later, General Motors and the Korean battery maker LG Chem announced a joint venture to build a $2.3 billion Ultium Cells battery plant next to the GM plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee.

Four student entrepreneurs were awarded $10,000 each in seed money during Anne Arundel Community College's annual Business Pitch Competition, held virtually April 29.
"Our competition provides not only seed funds for our budding entrepreneurs, but an opportunity for them to hone their pitch and gain confidence as they grow their business and seek additional customers and funding," Stacy Korbelak, assistant dean for business, economics and entrepreneurial studies, said in a statement released by the college.

Paul is the ranking GOP member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and several Kentucky Chamber of Commerce members were on hand to join in the discussion.
Aaron Anderkin, President of Integrated Sign and Graphic in Lexington and a member of the Kentucky Chamber's Small Business Council, said his company's revenue numbers had taken a hit of nearly 35 percent from year over year prior to the pandemic forcing them to shift operations. He also said that nearly 80 percent of the company's planned jobs were cancelled between April and June of 2020.

Hinson hears about Marshalltown business concerns | News, Sports, Jobs - Times Republican
Hinson asked owner Tasha Schnathorst questions about how her business has worked to return after closure and how they recovered when Marshalltown was hit with natural disasters.
Schnathorst’s business survived an eight-week shutdown amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and said she has managed to bounce back from the added effects of the 2018 tornado and 2020 derecho.
“We were a little nervous if people were going to come back,” Schnathorst said. “I was here when the governor released us to open, and I don’t think she even got the words out of her mouth before our phones started ringing off the hook.”
