Using Budget Tiers & Integration Benefits to Expand Multiroom Audio Business - CE Pro

As the market for multiroom audio matures, integrators are searching for solutions that provide a balance between functionality and price. They must try to meet the needs of customers looking for an entry-level system, middle-tier customers looking for value, and at the high end, customers looking for a performance-based solution.

CasaTunes aims to provide options for these different tiers while asking integrators to only have to learn one system that they can then deploy everywhere. While high-end multiroom audio is a key component in most home automation installations, you should not have to implement a home automation system to listen to audio. Ideally, a multiroom audio system will provide many of the integration and management audio benefits found in a home automation system.

The mini-Budget boost for small companies | MoneyWeek

mall and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) planning to recruit or retain workers as the pandemic eases may now be eligible for support, courtesy of chancellor Rishi Sunak's mini-Budget last week. It offered firms a range of cash payments if they retain staff and bring in new apprentices.

The money could alter the judgements you make about staffing in the months ahead. Your first decision is how to manage the withdrawal of the Job Retention Scheme, which is being phased out between now and the end of October. The cost of continuing to employ staff on furlough is set to increase steadily until then as the state tries to wean businesses off the support.

ASAE Urges DC Council to Drop Advertising Tax: Associations Now

ASAE and a coalition of other business groups in the nation's capital are urging the DC Council to reconsider a 3 percent sales tax on advertising that could impact any company or industry that advertises in the District.

The advertising tax is part of the Fiscal Year 2021 budget approved in a preliminary Council vote on July 7. The Council is scheduled to hold two more votes to fully finalize the budget on July 21 and then July 28.

DC Council Chairman Phil Mendelson proposed the 3 percent advertising tax before the first budget vote last week after some Council members had floated the idea of a 10 percent tax. Mendelson said the tax is projected to raise $18 million in revenue annually in a city where businesses are struggling to weather the COVID-19 pandemic.

Netflix elevation of co-CEO Sarandos pushes it closer to Hollywood

"It's a unique company in that they really have almost two headquarters," said Gil Simon, chief investment officer at San Francisco-based SoMa Equity Partners , which has nearly 10% of its almost $3 billion in assets in Netflix shares. "Clearly the core competency of the company is acquiring and producing content."

Sarandos is the person responsible for putting Netflix's money to work. From last year's Martin Scorsese hit "The Irishman" to Netflix's new action film, "Extraction," Sarandos has been doing the deals, even with Hastings as CEO, operating out of the company's official headquarters in Silicon Valley.
