AEDP Announces Recipients for Business Grant Program with More Funds on the Horizon | ALXnow -

The Alexandria Economic Development Partnership (AEDP) announced a full list of recipients for the program’s ALX B2B program — grant funding aimed at helping local businesses hold out through a sluggish recovery — and is moving forward on another phase of the program.

With the first batch of the funding being distributed to Alexandria businesses, AEDP said the process is starting for figuring out how to divvy up the next batch of state funding between the city’s needs.

Report: Walmart could announce corporate layoffs, plans 'changes' to business |

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — According to Arkansas Business, Walmart Inc. of Bentonville said Thursday that it is continuing to make changes to its U.S. operations, which may include workforce adjustments at its corporate headquarters.

Responding to Arkansas Business' inquiry into a tip that the retailer might announce layoffs at its Bentonville offices, spokesperson Jami Lamontagne said the company is making "some additional changes this week" as it continues its "journey to create an omni-channel organization within our Walmart U.S. business."

I wished I told him I thought his line of questioning was inappropriate. I worried he'd ask the same question to other interviewees in the future and make them feel just as uncomfortable. Lyft expands its rental business with Sixt partnership – TechCrunch

Lyft Rentals initially gave folks in Los Angeles and San Francisco the ability to rent vehicles through its app, which might be traditionally used to hail a ride or grab a shared scooter. The pilot was successful enough to warrant an expansion, but with one notable change. Lyft owns and operates the rental fleet in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The new partnership will shift that responsibility to Sixt, a global rental car company with more than 70 locations in the United States.

The car rental option via the Sixt partnership will initially expand to Las Vegas, Miami and Seattle. Lyft said it plans to expand to all cities within the Sixt rental network in the U.S. in the coming months.
