Are you about to pay more property taxes in San Angelo in 2022?

SAN ANGELO — The City of San Angelo is mulling the idea of lowering property tax rates, but property owners still could see an increase in their bills.

During a recent budget workshop, officials with the City of San Angelo directed staff Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021, to examine reducing property taxes from last year's rate of $0.776 to a new rate of $0.770 per every $100 San Angelo homes are valued.

Tennessee brings in $1.5 billion in taxes over July, exceeding estimates | wbir.com

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee's bank account grew by $1.5 billion over July from taxes, exceeding official estimates by $286.6 million.

According to Butch Eley, the Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration commissioner, most of the additional funds came from sales taxes. The General Fund grew the most out of all the state's different budgets, which is used to fund several state programs and initiatives.

Eagle River Man Sentenced for Evading Taxes on Gaming Machines | WXPR

An Eagle River man has been sentenced to more than a year in prison as part of an investigation into the skimming of profits from video gambling machines.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Wisconsin says 63-year old James Donker was sentenced Thursday to 14 months in federal prison.

Heber City Raises Property Taxes | KPCW

On Wednesday, Heber City voted to increase property taxes by about 10%. The vote was split 3-2 among council members.

The hike in Heber property taxes is for homes and businesses, and is the first increase since 2014. This one will go into effect starting with November bills.
