The accounting platform Snyder has raised $2 million in a seed round aimed at attracting new clients and promoting the company's visibility.

As TechCrunch reported on Friday (Aug. 27), the funding comes as Snyder Co-founders Michael Astreiko and Ilya Kisel wrap up their tenure at the seed money startup accelerator Y Combinator.

U.K. Accounting Watchdog Fines EY $3 Million Over Stagecoach Audit - WSJ

The U.K.'s accounting watchdog sanctioned Ernst & Young LLP and a former partner at the firm for failings in its 2017 audit of transportation company Stagecoach Group PLC.

The Financial Reporting Council on Wednesday fined EY £2.2 million, or $3.02 million, for what it called serious deficiencies in the audit. The Big Four firm failed to collect sufficient evidence and challenge the material assumptions underpinning Stagecoach's financial statements, the FRC said.

Real estate transactions: Accounting firm selects Uptown for new headquarters

Tiva Technologies sold its property at 23540 Coons Road in Tomball and subsequently leased it back from the buyer, Hollister Road Partners. The purchase included approximately two acres of land behind the property for future expansion.

Weaver and Tidwell , a national accounting firm based in Houston, leased 66,000 square feet at Five Post Oak Park, at 4400 Post Oak Parkway. The company, which will have signage at the top of the building, will relocate from 43,000 square feet in Weslayan Tower near Greenway Plaza by May 2022.

European accounting group looking into different approach to intangibles – MNE Tax

The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) on August 27 released a discussion paper reviewing and seeking feedback on possible approaches to providing better information on intangibles.

The paper responds to concerns that internally-generated intangibles have become increasingly important in evaluating companies' market values but that such intangibles are not adequately reflected in financial statements.
