Taxes, Taxes, Taxes | The SandPaper

After safety, the next concern of most Barnegat residents is taxes. Well, I am happy to announce that this year will show the lowest impact on our property taxes in the last nine years.

This was accomplished with the construction of a new town hall, public works building and new fire truck. Good fiscal management and extensive planning by the township committee, our administrator and CFO have rewarded residents with stable taxes.

FACT CHECK: 97 percent of small businesses exempt from Biden tax plan

The Biden administration recently cited an analysis from Treasury claiming that "the President's agenda will protect 97 percent of small business owners from income tax rate increases." However, the figure is misleading.

But looking at "filers with pass-through income" likely understates the effect on small businesses, and therefore underestimates the effect on the economy more broadly.
