After the Bailouts, Will Taxes Go Up? - The New York Times

The coronavirus pandemic has already cost corporate America dearly. And the BlackRock C.E.O. reportedly said on a private call recently that the worst was yet to come, Bloomberg's Sridhar Natarajan reports .

Mr. Fink predicted more bankruptcies and higher taxes on a call with clients of a wealth advisory firm. He sees the U.S. corporate tax rate going to as high as 29 percent next year, from 21 percent now, to help pay for government rescue efforts. (He expects the individual rate to rise as well.)

Tainted: An extra buck to pay my taxes safely? – Twin Cities

These residents have been in lockdown since March. It was refreshing to see the Archbishop and Bishop visit these residents and provide hope.

Suzy also wears a mask and keeps social distancing. She along with her cousin Dale (who drives her) deliver the meals to our houses. She doesn't want any money for the meals. It is awesome to see such good people out there.

Taxpayers Have Until July 15 to File and Pay Their Taxes | TAPinto

The federal income tax filing deadline has been extended to July 15. Taxpayers also have until July 15 to make any federal income tax payments that were originally due on April 15, without penalties and interest, regardless of the amount they owe. This extension applies to all taxpayers.

There’s no need to file any additional forms to qualify for this automatic federal tax filing and payment relief.

Taxpayers who owe, should file by the due date, and pay as soon as possible. They can schedule their payment electronically online, by phone or using their mobile device and the IRS2Go app . It's always good to pay as much as possible to minimize interest and penalties. The IRS offers a variety of electronic payment options to help taxpayers schedule electronic payments.

White House weighs pushing tax deadline back to Sept. 15

A further delay of the deadline for filing federal income tax returns and taxes owed is a one measure that's on the table, two people familiar with the discussions told NBC News.

The tax deadline — which the Treasury Department has already pushed back to July 15 — could go as far out as Sept. 15 or even Dec. 15, those people said. However, administration officials told NBC News that no decision has been made.

Queen Mary operator owes cities hundreds of thousands in unpaid taxes; has not complied with Long

Urban Commons, the operator of the Queen Mary, owes hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid occupancy taxes to Long Beach and other cities, sums the company collected from guests across its hotel operations.

In addition, the Long Beach City Auditor's office confirmed that Urban Commons, the master leaseholder of the historic ocean liner, has failed to provide access to its financial records as part of an audit initiated in December amid questions about the company's fiscal health. The city requested the information by March 13.

Trump's Payroll Tax Cut Could Save Me $21,000. It's Still Not the Answer.

The coronavirus pandemic has sent the U.S. economy into a tailspin. Gross domestic product was down in the first quarter, and declines in employment have reached historic levels. Even though the federal government has already passed three major measures to try to address the impacts of the pandemic on the economy, the White House and many lawmakers are still looking for more ways to put money into the hands of Americans.

Since the coronavirus crisis began, President Trump has been an advocate of a payroll tax holiday. As it happens, I might be one of the biggest winners from such a move. However, there are several reasons that better solutions exist to the economic problems facing hundreds of millions of Americans than cutting payroll taxes that go to fund Social Security and Medicare.
