You Can Reduce Marketing Expenses While Improving Business Performance. No, Really

Cutting costs has become a necessity for corporate survival, and the marketing budget is often the first one to be affected. But cost-cutting does not have to negatively impact growth and long-term success. In fact, it can actually serve as a catalyst for growth.

Many marketing leaders are facing tough decisions when it comes to reducing budget and trying to decide whether to eliminate programs, people, technology or a combination of two or three. In many companies each of these categories represents about a one-third of the marketing budget and none are useful without the others. The secret to successful cost cutting is taking a pragmatic and strategic approach to the exercise.

Lake-Lehman School Board passes budget, avoids ... tax hike | Times

LEHMAN TWP. — The Lake-Lehman School Board passed a “proposed final budget” with no property tax increase despite a $2 million shortfall that will have to be resolved by the end of June.

The board also pushed the last day of school a week later to June 12, and set two graduation dates: July 24 for a traditional ceremony if possible, and July 27 for an alternative ceremony.

Superintendent James McGovern also defended the decision to set the first day of school this fall for after Labor Day, arguing there are too many uncertainties thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.
