Virginia Employers Now Have New Overtime Wage Laws Under FLSA

An ex-con busted for robbery as a teen is among a group of employees of New York City's embattled Board of Elections who cashed in with massive overtime payouts last year, records show.

"That's just extraordinary, bringing in that much overtime. I can't imagine what he's doing for that much overtime," said Ken Sherrill, a professor emeritus of political science at Hunter College and a former Democratic district leader.

Southwest (LUV) Offers Staff Double Pay Over Jul 4 Weekend

Southwest Airlines Co . LUV is offering higher overtime pay to encourage employees to work extra shifts to meet the surge in demand during the Independence Day travel week, CNBC reported.

The carrier has also offered double pay for its pilots who pick up extra shifts, which the Southwest Airlines Pilots Association regarded as "inadequate". The union said that it could not reach an agreement with the company regarding its incentive plan for pilots to pick up more flying.

SBS Transit to pay $7,000 in costs for bus drivers' successful bid to transfer overtime pay case,

SINGAPORE - The High Court on Wednesday (June 30) ordered SBS Transit to pay $7,000 in legal costs to 13 bus drivers who are suing the transport operator over overtime pay.

The costs order was in relation to a successful application earlier this month by the drivers to transfer the case from the State Courts to the High Court.
