Mother-daughter teepee business seeks to enchant – Eagle News Online

SYRACUSE — As a favorite pastime, Gail Beaudry and her daughter Kylie spent a good chunk of the winter sharing their arts and crafts projects along with gardening tips and nutritious recipes on Etsy in hopes that they would secure some kind of following.

Though their time spent together on that focus made the entire venture worthwhile, the two felt certain that the e-commerce company would not be a seedbed for substantial business growth.

German business confidence sinks as virus clouds outlook

BERLIN (AP) — German business confidence has dipped unexpectedly this month as increasing coronavirus infections help cloud businesses' outlook for the coming months, a closely watched survey found Monday.

The Ifo institute's business confidence index declined to 100.8 points in July from 101.7 a month earlier. It was the first decline since January. Economists had expected an increase to 102.5.

Varied jobs and experiences helped man open his own business

"In my teenage years I worked on a farm across the road from our house," he began. "It was a feed lot for a local meat packing business, and they would have up to 300 head of cattle on the farm at any given time.

"They also raised and raced thoroughbred horses and I tended to the feeding and cleaning of stalls," he continued. "I also got the opportunity to help the horse trainers who taught me a lot about the horse racing world.
