ISBDC targets minority business owners - Radio Iowa

The Iowa Small Business Development Center is launching what it’s calling an Inclusivity Challenge to make sure minority business owners and entrepreneurs have the resources to succeed as the pandemic continues.

Lisa Shimkat, the center’s state director, says it's important to be proactive to make sure underrepresented businesses get the support they need.

Land split proposed at potential marijuana business site in Westland

Iowa sees record-high level of new business filings in 2021 fiscal year | The Gazette

The Office of the Secretary of State received registrations for 33,260 new business entities — or about one new business every 16 minutes — between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021.

Imax CEO says partner AMC's stock surge has helped his business as well

AMC Entertainment 's surging stock price has been good for Imax's business, Imax CEO Richard Gelfond said Monday.

"AMC is our partner, not our competitor," Gelfond said on CNBC's "Squawk Box." "I think their valuation is driven by their fanbase and their fanbase loves Adam Aron, and they love the asset and they've driven that stock to the higher ranges of valuation — and, you know, good for him.
