Northampton Mayor Gina-Louises Sciarra is asking the City Council for a $126 million budget for the next fiscal year, which includes a larger-than-originally expected boost to school funds and reorganization of the city's Health Department.
The budget reflects the difficult climb back to pre-pandemic levels of activity in Northampton. Most city departments will be asked to keep services level or make cuts under the proposal, with the exception of the schools and reorganized Department of Health and Human Services.
