Companies Should Pay And Report Their Taxes: A Bipartisan Proposal

Three recent articles have given me an idea which I think the most extreme on the left and the most extreme on the right could agree on. Companies should pay the statutory tax rate and clearly report on taxes paid by jurisdiction.

Let's start with Professor Rajgopal's contributions. I read each one four times. The first time through I got the basic idea but couldn't follow most of the technical accounting and tax details. The second time I got (I think) a few of them. The third time I got a headache.

EXPLAINER: What's the debate over releasing Trump's taxes? – 104.5 WOKV

Reports released by the committee , as well as Congress' nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation, give a glimpse into Trump's financial position before and during his presidency.

Since Richard Nixon — following media reports suggesting the then-president had taken questionable, large deductions on his individual tax returns — U.S. presidents and all major party nominees have voluntarily made at least summaries of their tax information available to the public.

Property taxes are up sharply for the coming year and a lot of taxpayers are upset about it. This is certainly the case for St. Paul, where a particular conjunction of factors for the city itself, for Ramsey County and for St. Paul Public Schools are all contributing to higher bills.

Opinion | The IRS should employ big accounting firms to scrutinize Trump taxes - The Washington Post

That the Internal Revenue Service doesn't have the expertise to audit tax filings from wealthy individuals isn't news. As the Dec.

The $80 billion being appropriated for the IRS can fix this problem, but not in the way Congress suggests. The money can't fix it fast enough to review Mr. Trump's taxes relatively soon or review other complex filings beginning with the 2022 tax year.
