Nevada landscaper fined for overtime pay violations - Landscape Management : Landscape Management

A Nevada landscaper failed to record workers' wages which amounted to more than $88,000 in overtime pay, according to a recent federal investigation.

Findings from the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division state H&H Landscape, located in Reno, Nev., paid only regular rates to 57 employees for those overtime hours worked.

CA Wage Statements Need Only Basic Overtime True-Up Listings

SCOTUS to Decide if Day-Rate Employee Making $200K Entitled to Overtime

Those familiar with the oil and gas industry know workers are often paid a day rate. For some, the pay can be lucrative. One such worker was Michael Hewitt, a tool pusher for Helix Energy Solutions Group.

As a reminder, employees are exempt from receiving overtime pay under the FLSA's white-collar exemptions if they perform exempt duties and receive a salary. A "salary" is a guaranteed amount that doesn't change based on the quality or quantity of work.

Mississippi poultry plants violate fair labor law | WATTPoultry
