Iowa City Burger Chain Accused Of Wage Theft On Missing Overtime Pay - Iowa Starting Line

Activists, union members, and a worker who says she is owed tens of thousands of dollars in unpaid overtime protested in front of an Iowa City burger restaurant Monday.

Rita, who requested Starting Line not use her last name, said she worked for the past 13 years at Short’s Burger and Shine in downtown Iowa City for owner Kevin Perez. In Spanish through an interpreter, Rita said she did every kind of job he asked of her from 8-or-8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Sudbury MA top earners: Database shows highest paid town employees

The Daily News requested the town's 2021 payroll data, showing annual compensation for some 1,007 town and school employees. The list covers a combined $50,889,267.57 in total pay.

In all, 200 town employees made more than $100,000 in total pay last year, though only two earned more than $200,000: heavy equipment operator Joseph Amato and special police officer Robert Grady.

The Recorder - Fairness for Farmworkers bill remains in limbo

BOSTON — Massachusetts continues to wait patiently for the bill to address the issues of low wages and the lack of an overtime pay system for farmworkers.

Under the current law, farmworkers can be paid a sub-minimum wage of $8 per hour. This contrasts with the state's minimum wage, which has grown from $11 per hour in 2019 to $13.50 in 2021 and is set to increase to $15 per hour next year.

MTA paid out more than $1 billion in overtime in 2021: data

NEW YORK (PIX 11)— The Metropolitan Transportation Authority shelled out more than $1 billion in overtime pay to its employees last year, according to payroll data released Friday.

More than 300 workers collected at least $100,000 in overtime, four of whom pocketed more than $200,000, records show. Approximately 700 earned more in overtime than their regular salary, according to the data posted on SeeThroughNewYork, the Empire Center's government transparency website.

Police officers, school workers dominate top 20 pay list in Sudbury

Sudbury's 2021 payroll included 1,007 employees who earned a combined $50,889,267.57, according to a Daily News analysis of compensation data.

All but five of the town's top 20 earners took home more than $150,000 in total pay, though only two — heavy equipment operator Joseph Amato and special police officer Robert Grady — earned more than $200,000.

PUB repays 6 months' overtime pay with interest owed to some staff due to 'technical ...

SINGAPORE — Due to a technical issue in a human resource (HR) system, a group of workers from national water agency PUB have been owed overtime pay for as long as six months, TODAY has learnt.

In response to queries, PUB said that it has since rectified the error and has paid workers the overtime pay owed in the six months and for February and March this year in April's payroll.

University employees to be paid biweekly - The Brown and White

Lehigh announced on March 1 the university payroll system will be moving from semimonthly to biweekly payments, occurring every other week, for all employees who are eligible for minimum wage and overtime pay.

Crouch, who oversees aspects of university finances, worked closely with many departments as well as the heads of every college during the last year to collect feedback from students and staff.
