Your Letters: March 1, 2020 - Opinion - vvdailypress.com - Victorville, CA
In response to the concern over non-service animals in restaurants, the letter writer is blaming the wrong entity. A quick visit to www.ADA.gov will show that a restaurant is very limited to what questions they can ask about a service animal. A service animal does not even have to wear a service animal vest, which, by the way, can be purchased on Amazon for a nominal fee.
It is the federal government that allows animals into restaurants without question, not corporations. If any public entity denies a disabled person their rights the penalty can be a very large fine for each instance. Also, it is against the law to ask what disability a person has. So please place the blame onto the government, not private companies for your inconvenience.
