Historically, April is tax time. (We will hold briefly for boos.) But there is a silver lining: Most people don't need to pay for special software to file them.

Though taxes aren't uniquely American, the way we handle them is. In most other countries, the government calculates how much you owe and tells you. Filing your taxes is simple and free.

Pet influencers are hotter than ever. But how do dogs do taxes? | TechCrunch

With over 7.5 million followers on TikTok, Swaggy Wolfdog is a full-blown celebrity – he (or at least his team) is used to getting approached by strangers, who might ask for a selfie. But as I approached the stylish pup and his handler, something possessed me.

"The dog has his own LLC, and everything that the dog does, we write it off. From dog food to sometimes when we go out of town, he has his doggie hotel, and now, he has clothing," said Aaron Phillips, a record producer who works with Swaggy Wolfdog's owner, a musician named Swagrman.

Filing Taxes Is Extremely Stressful for Me. Here's How I Cope

If you're on a Galaxy Fold, consider unfolding your phone or viewing it in full screen to best optimize your experience.

It's probably fair to say that most people don't exactly enjoy the process of doing their taxes . After all, sitting down to comb through documents, bank statements, and various financial forms is a lot less appealing than sitting down to binge-watch TV or curl up with a good book.

Money market fund assets surge on bank jitters

Cash keeps coursing into money market mutual funds — an influx set off by the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank last month.

Why it matters: The bank collapse prompted an outflow of deposits from smaller regional banks — and plenty of that cash landed in money market funds. The shift underscores the pressure that regional lenders — big sources of investment capital in some metro areas — continue to face.

Expanding overtime pay for Ohio workers - Delaware Gazette

Too many Ohioans work hundreds of extra hours each year and don’t get paid overtime for them.

Right now, companies don’t have to pay overtime to salaried workers who earn more than just $36,000 a year. That salary threshold is so low and so out-of-date that it leaves 85 percent of salaried workers behind.

US approach to crypto regulations is bad for consumers.

Following these events, I am more convinced than ever that the future of this space depends on sensible regulation, and this is the only way to maintain the trust of consumers who use crypto exchanges to explore the world of digital assets.

One of the biggest collapses was from Sam Bankman-Fried's FTX empire. FTX claimed to welcome regulation, but it's pretty obvious that this was just a front. Despite its regulation-friendly talk, FTX was fundamentally an offshore exchange serving international customers.
