Measuring the Impact of Charitable Regulations: New Jersey vs. Delaware

A forthcoming research paper for Philanthropy Roundtable by Pacific Research Institute economist Wayne Winegarden examines regulations on the charitable sector by state.

However, the imposition of additional layers of regulation – with no evidence of systemic problems arising from rules already in place – is not an effective means of building public trust or compliance, and in fact, could have negative implications for the charitable sector.

Unclear regulations drove 95% of trading activity offshore: Coinbase CEO

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong was not delighted with the news about the United States regulators looking into FTX.US along with Coinbase and Binance.US in the wake of the FTX crisis.

Armstrong said that the enforcement action against U.S.-based companies for the irregularities committed by an offshore crypto exchange that fall out of the jurisdictions of U.S. regulators makes no sense.

Minnesota tracking 'forever chemicals' in state's drinking water, braces for changing regulations

The Minnesota Department of Health is currently conducting a massive statewide initiative to collect, test and monitor drinking water from every single community water system in the state to search for harmful chemicals.

Chinese Chips Are Being Artificially Slowed To Dodge US Export Regulations | Hackaday

Once upon a time, countries protected their domestic industries with tariffs on imports. This gave the home side a price advantage over companies operating overseas, but the practice has somewhat fallen out of fashion in the past few decades.

The new export rules come as the US government grapples with the ascendance of China’s military, in both size and technological sophistication. The regulations restrict the export of advanced integrated circuits, but the regulations don’t stop there.

Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Fire | FEMA.gov

On Sept. 30, President Joseph R. Biden signed the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Fire Assistance Act that provides $2.5 billion to compensate New Mexicans and Tribal Nations impacted by the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Fire.

This historic fire, and subsequent flooding, had devastating impacts and this funding will provide much needed resources to help individuals and communities jumpstart their recovery.
