Student entries for Governor’s Business Plan Contest welcome | Jefferson County Area |

The 19th annual Wisconsin Governor's Business Plan Contest will accept entries online for the 2022 competition until 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31.

It also leads to valuable public and media exposure for the top business plans and helps spur economic growth in the state.

For their initial entries, contestants will submit a 250-word (or 2,000-character) idea abstract online at govsbizplancontest.com .

Small Business Center launches Vision Chase 2022 | Laurinburg Exchange

HAMLET — The Small Business Center at Richmond Community College is launching its own version of reality show “Shark Tank” for people who complete the seven core seminars on how to start a business.

5 Dirty Secrets About Online Business Today

Most of my students aren't complete online business newbies. Many of them have tried at least some kind of online business at some point. Some of them are trying to juggle several of them when they come to me, and they are usually very excited to tell me about it.

I admire their enthusiasm, but if they come to me looking to me for validation of what they are already doing, they usually come away disappointed. The idea they breathlessly share with me often times was old news five years ago.

Chula Vista crime: Citizens, business owners address downtown bad behavior issues

A Zoom conference was held Monday morning with Chula Vista business owners, a city council member, an officer with Chula Vista Police Department and concerned citizens trying to figure out how to address issues such as drunken behavior, loud noise, fighting and urinating in the street.

"Puke, pee and the other p-word, the poop, all that stuff going on,” Lewis said.

Central Austin bakery burns after 40+ years in business

AUSTIN (KXAN) – A fire broke out late Monday night at Texas French Bread Bakery. The Austin Fire Department responded to the fire at 2900 Rio Grande Street just before 11 p.m.

Workers called in firefighters and reported smoke filling the building. By the time crews arrived, firefighters saw flames shooting through the roof. All those workers escaped the building unharmed.
