Japan's Taxes on Crypto Firms Are Leading Some to Leave the Country

On Dec. 10, Japan's ruling coalition approved a tax plan for the 2022 fiscal year that continues to treat token listings as taxable. Once tokens are listed on an active market, issuers are liable to pay tax even if they don't sell.

A project that lists some of its tokens on exchanges and keeps the rest in its treasury also has to pay taxes on what it holds if its market value goes up.

Greene County property taxes due Dec. 31

Property owners should have received a bill from the Greene County Collector's office sometime in November. Those who have real estate or personal property need to pay their taxes by the end of the year or face fines.

The Collector's Office also encourages residents to verify all items of the bill before making payments.

Arnold voters to decide if city may collect sales taxes on internet sales | Local News |

Arnold voters will be asked again this April if they want to allow the city to collect sales taxes on internet sales.

City Council members voted unanimously Dec. 16 to place the measure on the April 5 ballot, which, if approved, would allow the city to collect its current 1.25-percent sales tax on internet purchases, like it does on purchases at retail businesses in the city.

$4.1M Royersford budget cuts taxes

Royersford Borough Council unanimously adopted a $4,170,723 budget for 2022 that drops taxes by a quarter of a percent.

According to Borough Manager Donna Ziegler, the borough’s millage rate will go from 8.95 mills in 2021 to 8.70 mills in 2022. The fire tax will remain at 1.25 mills.
