The Business Roundtable’s Statement on the Purpose of a Corporation, delivered in August 2019, reflected a pronouncement of a new paradigm for business. The signatories, CEOs of some of the most influential companies in the world, declared that “they would commit to lead their companies for the benefit of all stakeholders — customers, employees, suppliers, communities, and shareholders.

Small Business Outlook Survey results show concerns
The results are in from our annual Small Business Outlook Survey, and while Chicago’s employers are optimistic about the start of 2020 and have plans in place to grow their businesses, there are obstacles in their way. Google's Cash Cow Search Business Is Being 'Hollowed Out'
(Bloomberg) -- New numbers from Alphabet Inc. this week confirmed a major fear that has lingered around the internet giant for years: the Google online search business is slowing.
In its 2019 financial report, Alphabet split its advertising revenue into three buckets for the first time: Search, YouTube and a network business that runs marketing spots on other websites. Search sales rose 15% in 2019, a slower pace than the 22% in 2018.
"This hollowing out of search is real," Mark Shmulik, an analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein, wrote in a note to investors after the results. To maintain growth at even this lower level, Google will have to generate more revenue from its Maps service, image search and shopping search ads, he said.

Pizza Hut's slumping US business eyes turnaround with new management
Even with a sponsorship deal with the National Football League, Pizza Hut's U.S. business is struggling to find a win.
Yum Brands said Thursday that its 2020 results could fall short of its long-term outlook as a result of Pizza Hut's troubles in the U.S., as well as the hit from Wuhan coronavirus in China.
The warning follows yet another disappointing quarter from the pizza chain, which reported a same-store sales decline of 2% in the fourth quarter. In the U.S., which is its largest market by systemwide sales, same-store sales fell even further, dropping 4%.
