Overtime pay for farm laborers to be phased in over next decade - The Suffolk Times

Farm laborers will be entitled to overtime pay for working more than 40 hours a week in 2032, following an order signed by the state labor commissioner. 

Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon accepted the recommendation of the Farm Laborers Wage Board to lower the current 60-hour overtime threshold on Sept. 30, following nearly two years of deliberation and public feedback.

Bellevue firefighters made over $200,000 from overtime pay boosts, reduced staff | Washington ...

( T he Center Square) - There are 18 employees of the city of Bellevue fire department that made more than $200,000 in 2021 led by one firefighter whose gross pay was $286,409.

That highest-paid firefighter made $153,609 in overtime to boost his pay. The highest paid city employee was City Manager Brad Miyake at $315,501.

US federal judge approves overtime pay case: workforce news in brief

A US federal judge has given the greenlight to a lawsuit brought by a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) employee in a bid to claim overtime payments for time spent on a professional training course.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) administers the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) for the federal workforce and is responsible for regulations that prohibit employees from claiming overtime pay for this kind of training.

Burlington Reaches $11 Million Settlement Over Unpaid Overtime Wages – Footwear News

New York grants 40-hour overtime to farmworkers | TSLN.com

New York's labor commissioner on Friday approved a recommendation to phase in a 40-hour threshold for farmworker overtime over the next decade, the Associated Press reported.

Under current regulations, farmworkers in New York qualify for overtime pay only after they have worked 60 hours in a week.
